What is an MOT?

All cars that are 3 years old or older require an annual inspection (MOT). It ensures that at the time of the test, the vehicle meets the minimum acceptable environmental and road safety standards required by law. Please be aware that this does NOT guarantee the roadworthiness of the vehicle for the entirety of the MOT and it is your responsibility as the vehicle owner to ensure that your vehicle is maintained. If you have any concerns then please contact us immediately.

When can I get an MOT?

A vehicle can be presented for MOT up to 30 days before it expires and any extra days will be added to the certificate, effectively giving you up to 13 months MOT. The vehicle can be presented at any time, but anything over 30 days will be lost and the MOT will run for 12 months.

What if my car fails?

Here at CP Autos we are happy to carry out any repair work your vehicle may need to meet the required standards to receive an MOT certificate and we offer to retest your vehicle free of charge.
